***No Shoes***

I walked a mile in the poor man's shoes
the day I went bare foot for every where my foot put
its mark in the ground I left a deeper print
deeper than the steps I took and distance went
I left the finger prints of God with my feet
its true cause all that I met, had a chance to meet
the One who blessed me with these bless-ed feet.

The truth wasn't the feet or the shoes
just beautiful feet carrying beautiful news.
The truth was that these feet were covered in crud
from walking in dirt, unearthed with water as mud.
The truth was that these feet were covered in scars
from walking in thorns, rocks, and broken jars.
The truth was beautiful as the blue sky.
singing the blues to Who knows why.

I came to the truth without pretense
without soles to make my steps make sense.
For my soul's desire was to enter the gates bare
and walk the golden roads in the rare
truth, that God takes my worn toes
and worn heels that needs healing only He knows
before He sends me back to the world shoeless.

For what is a faith that is but never goes?
It's a walking nightmare in a world of woes.
And what is a faith that goes but never does?
It's the question why without a because...
Because His life through me is that answer,
that hope in God to cure that cancer
and take away that pain
that even religion can't explain.
It's all its cracked up to be
in this cracked world stepping on cracks with bare feet
and good news.

This is what I learned on day I wore no shoes.

Inspired by my no shoes day a couple of weeks
ago. : ) I knew I could pull some kinda biblical truth
out of that odd day. Isaiah 52:7, "How Beautiful
are the Feet of those who bring good news, proclaim
peace, bring glad tidings of good things, proclaim
salvation, and proclaim to Zion, 'Your God reigns!'"
Romans 10:15, "How beautiful are the feet of those
who bring good news!" To me that good news is all
of the kingdom of God not just salvation. And speaking
of feet it never really mentions how long those feet
stayed and ministered to those people. I think we
have this idea of "I come bearing good news with
my beautiful feet... ok bye now." But hey, guess
what we are implored to make disciples not converts
so we are not town cryers or visitors. We stay and
invest and live out that good news before them
however long it takes til God says to your feet,
"go and bless others you beautiful feet." lol Just
a thought, think about it.

ps. Jesus, thank you for my feet, "I like feet!" Emilio (from Mr. Deeds)

I like this. I've been trying to "walk my talk" of late, and trying to find the best ways I can.
